Gavakari Newspaper Website – Simple, Elegant, User Friendly

Website of “Gavakari” newspaper is our most recent remarkable creation. “Gavakari” is a leading marathi newspaper of North Maharashtra. They have six editions as Nasik City, Nasik District, Dhule-Nandurbar, Ahemadnagar, Navi Mumbai etc…
Mr. Vandanrao Potnis is owner of this newspaper. When I first met this cool headed personality, and we discussed about the project, he seemed very clear about their requirements and expectations from website. This is unlike most of the clients! As our first meeting concluded, I was clear that they donot want unicode based live-updated website, atleast as of now.
Then we came up with the current design of the website. Its very user friendly design with option to select desired edition on homepage. Clicking on selected edition, leads to internal page showing first page of the newspaper in image format. As entire newspaper is shown in image format, fonts problem is ruled out (This is common problem among marathi / regional websites). User can jump to any page of main newspaper or supplement of any edition for current date. For back dated newspapers, there’s option of archive section. User can just select desired date and edition.
I consider this website, very Simple, Elegant, User Friendly. In next phase, we will think of going unicode based live-updated website. But as of now, it definitely serves the purpose.

Future of Flash is not flashy

Adobe Flash is a software used to create animation and interactive components, that can be inserted on webpages quite easily. It surely adds animation, jazz and help make webpages eye-candy. But it the case when web browser was the only way to connect to and access internet. Now with increase in mobile devices and wireless internet availability, mobile web browsers and mobile applications are used increasingly. The market dominant Apple doesn’t support Flash either in iPhone or recently launched iPad.
Besides, lack of support from major vendors, Flash has its own set of problems as fas as web development goes. It’s lack of search engine friendliness, complicated maintenance, Requirement of Flash Player (a software application which must be installed and with the recent version in order to run all Flash Snippets) are just few to mention.
So, What’s future of Flash? Flash will continue to be used in creating animations, games, video streaming etc… Though, latest HTML5 and CSS3 web standards have created alternates to Flash in Video Streaming as well as in online Gaming, Flash still be used in gaming and in video streaming but its market share will reduce. Future of Flash is not flashy!
We at wabuwa, always emphasize on creating and developing web-standard based designs. The latest HTML5 and CSS3 web standards are widely used in development of some of our recent projects. We just do it because we give second importance to web standards just after to client requirements.

The Kalyan Janata Sahakari Bank’s website got launched today, Sep 12, 2009!
We consider it our latest best. Its very sleek, professional yet trendy, content rich, user friendly website. Its the result of ours as well as bank’s concerned staffs’ involvment that it got live with all the content.
But It was again effortless job for us. We did it by our heart and soul and whatever is done by putting heart in it… is effortless! Isn’t it?
Everybody present at the inauguration function, liked the website very much. We are hopeful that it will help the bank in growing its business.

Yahoo india web hosting

We have recently used yahoo india web hosting. It is nice. Though they still use PHP V4, rest all the features are upto date and its available for lucrative price of some Rs 2200 per annum. One more glitch is, the available payment mode is credit card only. This is a bit annoying for a person like me not using credit cards. I hope yahoo India will soon add online banking transfer to their payment options.
Another nice thing about yahoo hosting is, you get around 1000 email addresses and nice, sleek yahoo mail interface as email client. You can choose between two options to check emails.
- Check emails with yahoo as well as offline email clients like Thunderbird, Outlook Express OR
- Check emails with only offline email clients like Thunderbird, Outlook Express
To use the first option, the new email user need to have a yahoo email account. The business email (website email) can be access along with normal yahoo mail.
All in all it is a good web hosting… and we can of course rely upon the name Yahoo!

What’s winning? Why most of the people hanker to win? These sports personalities shown in the video run faster, ride faster, swim faster or they have achieved excellence in particular sport in the limitation of its rules… So what? What’s the big deal?
Winning is out of competition and competition is struggle. For most of the people on earth “Life is struggle”. They are tied up by ropes of rules, regulations, religions, society etc… I think people do not see above sportspersons.. They see themselves somewhere. They wish to perform in real life as their heroes perform in sports. They want to somewhere beat bitter past and bitter present by miraculous future. People take inspirations from them and perform in real life. In this way most of us are sportspersons… Some get fame, some get tomorrow.
